Keep up with all the Cupertino app news
If you wanna know what's hot in the world of Apple apps, then you may want to consider following the newly created AppStore Twitter account, which has been verified as an official Apple stream.
@AppStore went live on Monday and already has almost 80,000 followers.
And no wonder with exciting, mind-blowing, tweets such as:
Motivation. Full-body workouts. On-demand instruction. It’s all available on Nike Training Club. http://tw.appstore.com/4zo #appstore
And
Access low-fat, vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free recipes galore with Whole Foods Market Recipes. http://tw.appstore.com/t24
Actually, it is rather dull - but it does show that Apple is slowly warming to the micro-blogging service.
Sure, there have been some iTunes-Twitter accounts but it wasn't until Apple and Twitter did the Ping deal that we starting seeing any Twitter love from Cupertino - Scott Forstall and Phil Schiller are both signed up now.
Some special offers from the AppStore account would be nice, although at the moment it all looks a bit like self-promotion.
We'll keep an eye on it, and we suggest that any of our iDevice owning readers do the same.
