Microsoft is expected to talk about the next version of Windows at the D9 conference happening this week.
Seattle Times technology reporter Brier Dudley is covering the conference in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., organized by the technology news site AllThingsD.
The conference started Tuesday night with Google Chairman Eric Schmidt dissing Microsoft, saying he didn't consider it a contender. A few months ago, Schmidt said Bing was Google's most serious competition. Here is Dudley's post about Schmidt's comments.
Windows President Steve Sinofsky is scheduled to speak at the conference, with the expectation that he will talk about the next operating system, and how it will run on tablets.
Check out Brier Dudley's blog for full coverage Wednesday and Thursday.
