Reassuringly expensive
Bang & Olufsen isn't exactly one to rush out products for the sake of it, and would rather refine and tweak the ones that have stood the high-end consumer electronics brand well in the past. And such is the case with its new iPhone-friendly earbuds, which are essentially an update on its successful EarSet 3 model.
Sporting Apple's usual brushed aluminium and black livery, the Earset 3i is designed specifically with the newest generation of iPhone in mind.?
The headphones include a dedicated operation button for browsing your music collection, as well as a switch for answering and ending calls. Despite weighing in at just 23g, the Bang & Olufsens blast out some pretty serious sound, with all the poise and dynamics that you can expect from the top-end manufacturer.
The 'phones are designed with a sort of "one size fits all" approach in mind, ensuring that each bud adjusts to the contours of your ear and stays in even whilst running or biking.?
Based on the "open loudspeaker principle", the 3i's also allow you to hear some of the outside world while still maintaining high quality sound - a good idea then for those who regularly listen to music on a busy commute. The tough design of the headset also means that the whole kit and caboodle can sit in a pocket without getting scratched.?
With an asking price of ?180 for the EarSet 3i, the new model isn't exactly cheap. But, if you are the sort of person who regularly purchases Bang & Olufsen products, we expect that's relatively pocket change.
