Does a better job than expected
Those who are squeamish about seeing new tech suffering dire fates should look away now, especially if you'd love an iPad 2 but can't afford one. US electronics warranties specialist SquareTrade has filmed a durability test with two separate iPad 2s, one with and one without one of Apple's Smart Covers (they're built from space suits, don'tcha know).
The first test has each device dropped simultaneously face-down onto a concrete floor; the second from shoulder height; and the third features a whack from a golf club, for good measure.
We'll leave you to watch the clip to find out the results. All we can say is, if you're going to the golf course anytime soon, it's best to leave your iPad 2 behind.
