Official Microsoft video shows off technology behind new feature
One of the coolest things revealed during Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer's keynote over at CES was the announcement of Avatar Kinect, and now Microsoft has released this video that briefly shows the new feature in action.
Avatar Kinect brings facial recognition to Microsoft's motion sensor platform, with the Kinect cameras able to pick up head, eyebrow and mouth movements. You talk or frown, and your Avatar talks or frowns. Very cool stuff.
Coming later this year for Xbox LIVE gold members as a free update, Microsoft is hoping the 8 million Kinect owners around the world will sit in up to 15 different environments talking with their mates, like they currently can’t do.
